Global Racing Oil sponsored trials rider Kyle Middleton has returned home to Australia after competing in the Spanish and French rounds of the World Trials Championships in Europe. Middleton landed in Spain a few days after crashing out of the Australian titles with the pressure of having to wean himself of crutches before competing in the Spanish round on the Sunday. Prior to the competition Kyle had the extra burden of driving to the GAS GAS  factory to pick up his new GAS GAS trials bike before attending his first visit to the Global Racing Oils factory and head office.

Kyle was delighted with the reception he received from the attending GRO head manager. During his visit Kyle was asked about the GRO products and was pressed for his input. ‘It was very interesting to see how much input 10 times world champ Adam Raga had in the development of some of the GRO products. They really wanted to know my honest opinion knowing I had tested many other products over the years. I had to tell them what I assumed they already knew ‘that they were excellent!’

GRO supplied oil enough for Kyle’s own use and for the entire Aussie Team for the Teams De Nations which was to follow the last rounds of the world championship.

Middleton left Girona and headed for Tona, where the Spanish round was held this year to set up his new GRO GAS GAS. ‘Tona is about 1 hour north of Barcelona within the Catalonia district of Spain where all the great trials riders hail from.  The sections in the Spanish World Championship round made the Australian title’s sections look short, easy and small’ stated Middleton! He went on to say ‘The stages consisted of nothing much other than huge open hills that just went up, and up, and up, some of them ending with ropes at the top for the safety of the minders.  I definitely struggled a lot with my injury and came to the point where I couldn’t walk the sections because the pain was becoming too much. I finished a disappointing 21st but happy to have finished the day’.

The World Championship round in France was for both women and men and was held in the ski resort of Isola 2000 inland from the French Riviera city of Nice. With an altitude well above 2000m the trial yet again supplied terrain nothing like that trained on in Australia. France soon proved to be a difficult weekend for Middleton and fellow Aussie, Lewis Nolan. The wet and slippery rocks combined with his injury left Middleton disappointed with his 23rd position.

Middleton headed north to Italy to join fellow compatriots to prepare for the up and coming ‘Teams De Nations’ World trial championships. Look out for a report in the next GRO news.

Middleton went straight from competing in Europe to the final round of the NSW Trials championship held at the Appin Motorsport complex in NSW.  Kyle’s ankle was showing signs of recovery and allowed him to show his ever improving skill level to clean up the expert catorgrey of the NSW Championship. Landing another state title consolidates GRO sponsored Middleton as one of Australia’s top motorcycle trials champions. GRO lubricated several other goods results at the NSW championships. Estelle Boorer from the Kaos trials team finished 2nd in the women’s title hunt with son Jonty 3rd in the 100 junior catorgrey. Proof that front runners use the best products. Congratulations from Global racing Oil!

Kyle asked if he could thank his three major supporters for making his trip possible. Global Racing Oil, both the Australian importer of Global Racing Oil, Solo Motorcycle Imports and Global Racing Oils head office in Spain. Motorcycling Australia’s international grant for part-funding his outside of Team De Nations events and GAS GAS Motos Australia for supplying the new 2010 GAS GAS.
